Heron Sculpture

The stainless steel sculpture as it sits on the roundabout at the entrance to Carrigaline

I worked with artist Peadar Drinan in 1999 and 2000 to bring this sculpture to life. Designed by Peadar, this stainless steel heron now graces the entrance to Carrigaline village. I spent many hours cutting, shaping and welding hundreds of feathers to the sturdy 316L box steel skeleton, which was a *pleasure* to roll into shape!

The sculpture was commissioned by the local Lion’s Club and gifted to the village to mark the Millennium.
